Reflection of Silence is a collaboration of musicians who share a mutual passion for the art of creative improvisation in Iranian and Kurdish music.

– Tara Jaff
A self-taught Kurdish musician originally from Halabja, Iraq, and has been living in the UK since 1976. Over the years, she experimented with different string instruments but it was her fascination with the ancient harps of Mesopotamia, that led her to the contemporary Celtic harp. Embracing this instrument, She introduced it to Kurdish music, developing her own unique style of playing. She has given many performances mainly as a solo artist and occasionally with poets, painters and theatre groups in various projects and performances.

Born in 1988 in Kermanshah, Iran. He started music by learning Tombak on his own. In 2003 , he took part in Mohammad Ghodsi’s classes and he could accede in Pejman Hadadi’s classes too. After finishing advanced courses in playing tombak , he started learning Kamancheh with Rouzbeh Asadiyan and Maestro Mohammadreza Lotfi. He also participated in Kayhan Kalhor’s master classes. Over the past few years he has had several concerts with Mehdi Rostami in the UK .
He is presently involved with the Reflection of Silence project which was founded in 2014. It was selected as one of the Top 10 Live UK events by Songlines magazine after its London debut in March 2014.
– Sirishkumar Manji
An Indian classical tabla maestro, who was introduced to the tabla at the age of seven by his late father and teacher Pandit: Bhagwanji Manji who in turn learnt from the great singer Pandit: Omkarnath Thakur.
Sirishkumar has been performing ever since, working with a range of musical talents and performers, combining Indian classical flavours with modern, classical and world music traditions.
He currently spends his time as a performer, producer, composer and teacher.
