After a very successful sold-out 12 editions, Arts Canteen’s Arabs Are Not Funny is back with very interesting line-up of comedians, representing the Arab world and surrounding regions, looking for an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Confirmed comedians :

** Karim Duval

Karim Duval is probably the only French comic with an Asian face who speaks Arabic… and hopefully English!

In short, he is a Sino-French-Moroccan comedian, who left his job as a manager in a big company to do stand-up.

He is at the forefront of a new generation of comedy currently burgeoning in France.

Karim took part in the famous “French Fried Comedy night” troop several times, and opened for the American comedian Sebastian Marx in Paris.

He also performed in Casablanca, and was at the “Zoofest” festival in Montreal this summer.

*** Nabil Abdulrashid

Mohamed Nasir Nabil Abdulrashid Ibn Suleman Obineche (Nabil Abdulrashid for short)arguabley one of if not the most dynamic original and creative young talents of his generation, within 2years of performing he had written for his own tv show as well as starred in it and set comedy clubs a blaze across the country with his energetic take no prisoners style and rapier wit,
very few comedians can match this young performers charisma, in 2010he opened for the premier of Omid Djalilis movie “The infidel” making him one of (if not the) youngest black males to do stand up at the hammersmith apollo…

Nabil has also been featured on channel aka,iqra tv the islam channel and will soon be featured on itv 4 as a semi finalist on fhms “stand up comedy heroes, he currently is a well sought after act and stays active on the mainstream comedy club circuit, urban comedy circuit and inter religous communities, his multicultural and poly valent approach to comedy assures there is something for everyone in his act his rapier wit and flare for current event issues has also made him a respectable social commentator among the youth in britain opening doors for him as motivational speaker in universities and youth centered events where he is often invited to give his views on current issues, his youth and community work had him nominated for an award in the house of commons in 2011

**** Ella Pigeon Al-Shamahi

Ella Al-Shamahi is a National Geographic Explorer and Neanderthal specialist fossil hunting in caves in unstable & hostile territories… she’s also a stand-up comic.
